EcoTalk’s 12 Step Program for “Warm-a-holics*”

Because we all contribute to global warming, be co-dependent no more:

1st Step: Admit you are powerless over your addiction to using energy and that your high energy use has become unmanageable, and then change 10 light bulbs in your house to compact florescent bulbs. Taking this first step saves 1,795 lbs of carbon dioxide per year!

EcoTalk's Final Show(?)

L2titlephotosgovrichardson This might be EcoTalk's last hurrah as a daily show, but we'll be damned if we won't go out with yet another jam-packed hour of news that will inform the future that us optimists are determined to see through.
If the mainstream media were a little more concerned with concrete plans for our energy future than the cost of somebody's haircut, presidential outside shot Governor Bill Richardson (NM) might have a reasonable shot at the White House this upcoming silly season. David Sandretti of the League of Conservation Voters joins Betsy to outline the big guy's plan to combat climate change. LISTEN (10 min)

Your LAST chance to save EcoTalk

Dear Friends of EcoTalk

“EcoTalk’s Inconvenient Truth":

If Green is the new Black why are we in the Red?

The nearly three years of broadcasting our groundbreaking program on Air America have come with nearly constant turbulence. As the nation's first progressive network with ambitious expansion plans experienced growing pains, EcoTalk weathered them all - but not without significant cost. Selling advertising and partnerships was our only means to cover production costs and that task was made difficult for many reasons.

Phuket bars that are well worth a visit

Filed under: General — Laura @ 1:04 am

If you like bars and you happen to be in Phuket then you’re in luck. In fact it’s like your birthday, Christmas and Wedding day all rolled into one. Phuket bars are world renowned as excellent places to drink and hang out. Phuket bars alone are definitely worthy of a trip to Phuket.

One thing is for sure: Phuket bars are markedly different from their Western counterparts, and the organization of the bars will leave some confused. Never fear! I’m here to clear up some of this confusion.

The main area where most of the bars are situated is Bangla road. This road is around 600m and is wall to wall with restaurants, market stalls, bars and night clubs. There are some other areas where you will find some evening action, but Bangla road has to be one of the most impressive.

Most of the Phuket bars are positioned on side streets called ‘Soi’s. A Soi is just a grouping of related or unrelated establishments; they have names like ‘Soi Crocodile’, ‘Soi Lion’ and, interestingly, ‘Soi Eric’.

You can easily get lost in one Soi for an evening (or more); if you want a better taster of what Phuket bars are about then you would do better to do a little more traveling around the different types of Soi.

Free Ares Downloads sometimes have adware

Filed under: General — Laura @ 11:47 pm

Getting a free Ares download is pretty easy. Typing free Ares download into Google should give you any number of excellent choices. There are some places to be wary of, though.

Places like OfficialAres.com are great sites to learn about getting a free Ares download. There’s loads of information there that is both interesting and useful to new and old users alike. Point your browser over there and see what you think. They’ve got a really useful section on reviews and comparisons of different versions of Ares.

A lot of free software on the web is put there purely for the benefit of its use and distribution. Other, less morally acceptable, people will place software online just for the purposes of infecting your computer with a virus, a Trojan horse, or some spyware. The latter is probably the most common when it comes to getting a free Ares download. Software like Ares Destiny comes packaged with ‘Dealio’ which is a pretty nasty piece of adware software. The providers of Ares Destiny are brazen enough to actually claim this as a ‘feature’ of the software.

There are plenty of good resources on the internet for getting a free Ares download, but you’ve really got to use your common sense when you decide from where you get it.

Salvia getting well known

Filed under: General — Laura @ 12:51 am

Salvia wasn’t a well known drug until the middle of the last century, it was mentioned in 1963 by scholars Richard Schultes and R. Gordon Wasson, from experimenting in psychedelic explorations in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Salvia is also known as Salvia Divinorum and has become quite well known and is being used by teens in universities all over the world. Is Salvia the new Marijuana?

Salvia Divinorum was once mentioned in an article about cooking with sage, it belongs to the mint family so you can understand why, but Salvia has totally different results when ingested.

Salvia can be taken in various ways but the most common is to smoke it. This produces experiences ranging from uncontrollable laughter to much more intense and profoundly altered states. Because of these effects Salvia has been likened to LSD.

A documentary in 1998 about the plant produced numerous Nexis mentions in the British press. As the drug was thought to be new, not many people had heard of it. But this plant is not new and has been known to the natives of Mexico’s Sierra Mazateca range for a long time, they use it to facilitate visionary states of consciousness during spiritual healing sessions.

Where to download Ares

Filed under: General — Laura @ 2:07 am

I was scouring the net the other day to find the best place to download Ares software. I’m a filesharing virgin and, really, I wanted a site that would introduce me gently and hold my hand through the difficult first time. Fortunately I found OfficialAres.com which is not only a really good site, it seems like it’s a fantastic resource for anyone wishing to download Ares.

I didn’t know much about P2P filesharing, nor the controversy that surrounds the whole exercise. I thought that all I wanted to know about was how to download Ares. Now I realize, thanks to OfficialAres.com, that there’s a very interesting and varied world out there. The guides and FAQs on the site really helped me to understand more about my decision to download Ares. Without it I would still be in the dark over what exactly is going on my computer!

I read with interest the filesharing news and perused the reviews. Once I’d read through the site a little I was a lot more confident with my decision to download Ares. I’d definitely recommend this site to casual and more regular users of Ares filesharing software. The interesting a well written news section is worth a repeat visit in its own right. Great stuff.

Home Business Review Information

Filed under: General, business — SuzyQ @ 5:12 pm

I’m dedicated to my home based business. It has given me (and my family) a new lease of life which was sorely needed. Not only am I able to set my own hours (and, as a result, see more of my family), but I’m also able to work on the things I want to work on. I do not have to suffer a commute, and I don’t have to work for someone who I’d rather not spend any time at all with. All in all, this is the best thing I’ve ever done.

If I had the luxury of being able to turn back the clock a year then I would definitely do one thing differently: I would go to CitizenCorps.com and find a home business review for the business I undertook. It might have made me think a little differently about my future. A home business review at CitizenCorps.com would have given me a practical and unbiased opinion on the opportunity that I was going to expend so much sweat and tears upon.

CitizenCorps.com is without a doubt the greatest repository of information on the Internet. Not only is it a great place to find a home business review on pretty much any potential home business opportunity, but it’s a wealth of information on other related topics. Definitely worth a visit whether you’re a current or prospective home business practitioner, whether you’re looking for a home business review or otherwise.

Ares not able to connect

Filed under: General — Laura @ 8:19 pm

Ares Galaxy has been a stalwart in the Ares filesharing software world since day one. It has always been there for me and for many others.

Unfortunately the old workhorse has start give up the ghost. Not only is Ares galaxy past its sell by date, but there some trouble with Ares not connecting to its network properly. This is a major annoyance for many people. Ares connecting is just something that happens: like morning turning into the evening.

The problem with Ares not connecting appears to be originating from the cnodes (listen at me… sounds like I know what I’m talking about. Really I don’t, I just happened to hear it from someone that does!) not repopulating properly when the program is up and running. This results in Ares not connecting when you fire it back up.

Fortunately help is at hand. Ares Ultimate and Ares Vista – both relative newcomers to the scene – are programmed so that the cnodes problem is not a problem. In addition to solving the Ares connecting problem this software is just, well, better. Good job all round, really, and once you’ve made the swap you’ll be wondering just why you didn’t do it last year.

Law of Attraction The Key to the Universe

Filed under: General — SuzyQ @ 1:56 pm

The key to receiving everything you desire is by learning how to achieve a vibrational harmony. So teaches the Law of Attraction. This ‘vibrational harmony’ is relating to the vibrations that your thoughts create when you think them. If you can direct these vibrations towards something that you really want to attract – or repel – then you may just attract it.

The Law of Attraction allows us, put simply, to shape our lives. When we are born we have a primordial sense of what can be achieved by positive thought and, conversely, how very damaging negative thoughts can be. This sense of self is beaten back by a society which keeps telling us to ’stand in line’ to ‘fit in’, and not to have crazy ideas.

I want those crazy ideas, and the Law of Attraction tells me that not only can I have them, but they’re most definitely good for me.

In order to reap the full benefits of the Law of Attraction you must learn to give your focus and attention to the things or experiences you truly desire. Giving your focus and attention on the absence of what you desire is a completely different concept and your negative vibrational energy will drive these things away.
