Everyone makes mistakes when they’re typing – even me – and often times these are not picked up by the word processing software on which we rely so much. There are some times where these spellings are more obvious, and these are usually where the typist does not have the benefit of these automated checkers. One example of such an application is email, where the spell checkers are not so easy to use.
Another more prevalent place where spelling is not checked is the Internet.
When searching for Ares people type in some really odd things – and I suspect that this partly because of the lack of a spell checker in the Google search engine. Spellings like Aeres, Aris, Aers and Arez may be genuine spelling errors, or they may be internationalized spellings of the popular word. Either way, the visitors always end up at OfficialAres.com
Interestingly Some other spellings appear, too. And these are actually ‘real’ words in their own right. People typing Aries can easily be forgiven as the word sounds very much like that dictionary word. Aires, too sounds remarkably similar to the target word. Areas doesn’t sound anything like, however, and one can only imagine what the typist was thinking!
Patong girls are modern day sirens. Some of them make it their life’s work to ensure a rich Westerner. It is not that they particularly find Westerners attractive, but that they find their wallets particularly interesting. Trying to understand Patong girls is a very dangerous pastime. Not trying to understand Patong girls is even more lethal.
Part of the inherent problems that Westerners face when traveling to the island is the fact that there are so many girls in Patong. You can’t walk 10 meters without finding some sort of bar or entertainment complex with an abundance of girls dancing away. This, to some men, is heaven on earth. The girls generally look great and, when they flutter their eyelids at you, it is easy to think that you have won the jackpot. Going anywhere without trying to understand Patong girls is the mistake of the century, though. You can be married and divorced again just from a week’s holiday in the sun. Imagine what you wife will say when you return! She will not bother trying to understand Patong girls!
The girls are dangerous because of their beauty and their single minded desire to get what they want. If you don’t mind giving them what they want, and take everything at face value, then perhaps this really is heaven on earth.
There are some occasions where the strength of a product can mean its name is considered a byword for the leading product in its chosen field. So was the case with the Ares Galaxy P2P filesharing software which was long considered the only viable application in this area.
Since those early, heady, fun-filled days of 2002 things have changed. Ares Galaxy is most certainly not the only horse in this race; what’s more, this particular horse is getting on a bit and is starting to drop to the rear of the pack. Of course this change hasn’t happened suddenly, and in fact Ares Galaxy hasn’t been the best available for some time now. Ares Ultimate, Ares Ultra and Ares Vista are all vastly superior products that just didn’t have the Ares Galaxy name. Galaxy managed to keep going purely on the strength of its name.
There’s nothing wrong with Ares Galaxy per se – in fact it’s still better than some of the modern equivalents like Ares Gold and the horrible Ares Destiny, both fairly incompetent and both packaged with adware – it’s just that people are starting to see that there are much better alternatives. Alternatives that have moved with the times where Ares Galaxy failed.
Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together? Of course you do. And so does Steve Jobs and the team over at Apple. Except this time their plan for the app store hasn’t quite come together quite as they envisioned it.
Apple had hoped that the average price of an app in the app store would be something like $10 ago. This a fair whack above the $2.29 suggested by Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray who recently took the time to undertake a survey of 20 iPhone developers.
More worrying for the boys and girls at super-slick Apple is that 71% of the apps developed – again according to the Munster poll – would be released on the app store for free.
All this sounds great as a customer and an owner of an iPhone that is just about to be injected with a healthy helping of new software (potentially for free), but it sounds the death knell for the plans put forward by Apple and Co. which sees them taking a 30% revenue cut from any money made out of the app store. A revenue share on free or very cheap items is not going to make anyone rich.
For anyone thinking about getting an iPhone games Wii, it might be sensible to wait for the imminent release of the new model. In fact it might be the only way you’re going to get one unless you strike lucky, since the online store and many brick and mortar shops are, quite simply, out of stock.
If you think it is surprising that Apple would accidentally let stocks of their iPhone games lapse, then you’re right. IF they had accidentally let this happen that that would be totally uncharacteristic. It’s safe to assume, then, that this isn’t simply a mistake, and that the shortage of the little iPhone games is entirely by design.
So, what? They don’t want us to buy an iPhone games? Well not at the moment no. Simply because they’ll be releasing the new version very shortly (we’ve gone full circle here, see?). They want to make you want it more. Another very clever tactic from your friendly Apple man
The tragic death by suicide of one teen Delaware, and his parents’ subsequent outcry and campaigning, has seen Salvia banned in a number of US states.
Salvia is a herb with relatively tame hallucinogenic properties. It is part of the sage family and is a close relative of the mint plant. Many gardens in the US have some form of Salvia plant growing in them.
Drug agents say smoking or chewing salvia produces hallucinations and can cause a person to become dizzy and impair judgment.
Salvia is legal under US federal drug law and is likely to remain so for some time. It remains legal in all but 11 US states and in almost all countries worldwide. Whilst one can sympathies with the parents of the Delaware teen, it is a fact that there is no medical basis that could be used to justify a call to see Salvia banned.
Kansas and Oklahoma are the latest states to have Salvia banned. The laws passed recently mean that it is illegal to use, possess or sell the plant in either its natural or concentrated forms.
Despite these recent attempts to have Salvia banned, it is widely available over the Internet at sites specializing in the plant.
I loved Ares. So did many other people. Looking back it was easy to see why the little filesharing application was so popular. Now, in the age of ever more powerful computers, faster processors and more voluminous hard disks it is starting to loose favor. I feel a little sad about this as it is a personal favorite, but I’m realistic and I will always move with progress.
Ares Lite was designed in 2002 for those of us with computers lacking clout to run a full-featured version of the P2P filesharing software.
A strange misconception quickly moved through the community: Ares Lite was the only filesharing application that wasn’t being packaged with unwanted adware. Of course looking at the impressive line up of really good versions now (names like Ares Vista, Ares Ultra, Ares Galaxy and Ares Ultimate spring to mind) and then it is easy to see that this was simply not true. Unfortunately there were still packages that did include spyware (Ares Destiny is the contemporary equivalent) and these left something of a sour taste in people’s mouths.
Ares Lite’s smaller footprint makes a negligible difference on my computer today and it seems a shame to be loosing out on the functionality of the new leaders for the sake of nostalgia. So long, old friend!

The bible tells us that love should not envy, and I really do believe that. I cannot help but envy my best friend. She was stuck in a fairly mundane job that was unfulfilling and didn’t pay so well. My friend has always been a dreamer, though, and she was always going on about the first class travel, the nice car and house, and the lifestyle that she would have… eventually.
Well, she got that lifestyle. And I’m a little envious!
Of course it ended up being nothing more than hard work on her home business that got her in the position she wanted. She’s enjoying the lifestyle that she always hankered after.
A home based business seems to be the way in which, with hard work and commitment, a lot of our dreams can be realized. Until now I’ve been a bit of a coward and I haven’t had the inclination to make that ‘jump’ into the world of my own home business. After seeing the wonderful time that my friend is having, however, I find that I’m a lot more motivated.
I’m not under any illusions that running my own home based business is going to be easy, but I am at least convinced that it can be done, my dreams can be realized, and I can have that dream lifestyle. Bring it on.
Many people travel to Phuket for the nightlife, and while the little island is still a way behind Bangkok in terms of truly progressive variety, it is safe to say that Phuket nightlife has improved considerably in the past few years.
With high-profile DJs like Louie Vega, Jo Mills and even Judge Jules playing at the islands newer clubs, it is clear that the attitude to clubbing as Westerners understand it is opening up, and the Phuket nightlife is offering more options to the vacationer.
Having said that the new styles of music are not yet too popular with many of the locals, who still prefer the Thai-style clubs with their mixture of alcohol and local cover bands. This was evident at the gigs played by the aforementioned super-artists who turned up to disappointingly half-full clubs. The Phuket nightlife has some way to go before it becomes an international clubbing destination.
But the seeds are here for a great vacation and the Phuket nightlife will improve with time and the money which these preliminary changes will help to bring in.
Phuket is a place on the up and is worth visiting for the beaches, the food and, now, the nightlife.
www.officialares.com is a site that I visit regularly. Anyone looking to get into Ares P2P filesharing should go there before deciding on an Ares download. Official Ares has a happy surfeit of different versions of the Ares download from which to choose, from those that work well with Windows Vista, to those that work well generally.
This might sound like a paid review for the Official Ares site but I can assure you it is not. I am but a humble raconteur on a quest to tell the world about my pleasing discoveries… yeah, I like to share my minor victories with you, since it makes me feel big!
Anyway, I digress. Choosing an Ares download is not an easy task, especially when one knows somewhere between little and nothing about the subject. Official Ares does an excellent job in helping you make that decision. Its reviews of the various types of Ares download help you to make your initial choice and the short FAQ will help in addressing any queries that you may have.
The news section is of particular interest to anyone who follows the industry at all: the stories are regularly updated and always interesting to read. It is clear that the writers have the Zeitgeist firmly by the tail.
Definitely well worth a visit.
