EcoTalk’s 12 Step Program for “Warm-a-holics*”

Because we all contribute to global warming, be co-dependent no more:

1st Step: Admit you are powerless over your addiction to using energy and that your high energy use has become unmanageable, and then change 10 light bulbs in your house to compact florescent bulbs. Taking this first step saves 1,795 lbs of carbon dioxide per year!

EcoTalk's Final Show(?)

L2titlephotosgovrichardson This might be EcoTalk's last hurrah as a daily show, but we'll be damned if we won't go out with yet another jam-packed hour of news that will inform the future that us optimists are determined to see through.
If the mainstream media were a little more concerned with concrete plans for our energy future than the cost of somebody's haircut, presidential outside shot Governor Bill Richardson (NM) might have a reasonable shot at the White House this upcoming silly season. David Sandretti of the League of Conservation Voters joins Betsy to outline the big guy's plan to combat climate change. LISTEN (10 min)

Your LAST chance to save EcoTalk

Dear Friends of EcoTalk

“EcoTalk’s Inconvenient Truth":

If Green is the new Black why are we in the Red?

The nearly three years of broadcasting our groundbreaking program on Air America have come with nearly constant turbulence. As the nation's first progressive network with ambitious expansion plans experienced growing pains, EcoTalk weathered them all - but not without significant cost. Selling advertising and partnerships was our only means to cover production costs and that task was made difficult for many reasons.

Learn more about Ares Ultra

Filed under: General — Laura @ 8:57 pm

There are many versions of software that allow us to share files over the internet; although they all do essentially the same thing they are very different in the way they approach the same problem. Predictably they all have certain foibles and mannerisms that make them great and not so great. Ares Ultra is one such program.

Ares Ultra differs from many of the other filesharing applications because it is so inoffensively easy to use. Turn it on, select your files, download. Simple as that. It also plays very nicely with AOL, too, which many others fail to do. Worth considering if you’re stuck with AOL.

The main drawback to Ares Ultra is this: it’s so simple to use. While this doesn’t sound like much of a problem it can lead to some of the more complex operations being hidden well inside the application’s menus.

Other than this Ares Ultra really does provide a fantastic solution to a common problem.

Liberty League International Was My Start

Filed under: business — SuzyQ @ 2:46 am

I am a believer in the direct sales industry. I am a believer because I have worked hard enough to make it work. Many people don’t realize the work required before they engage in a home based business, and these people are, unfortunately, doomed to fail.

It was just this type of person that took issue with Liberty League International after their massive success in the mid 2000’s. It was this type of person that has caused the Liberty League International’s name to be associated with the word “scam.” But a scam it is not, and the many of us that made an excellent living and built strong successful home businesses will testify to that.

Unfortunately the major concerns of those disgruntled entrepreneurs were difficult to refute because, well, some of it were true. The complaints centered on the poor product that was provided by Liberty League International, and there was no doubt that it really was a poor product. This of course ignores all the other benefits associated with such a venture, but it is difficult to argue effectively when there are so many vocal opponents.

LifePath Unlimited has been one of the companies that have watched and learned from Liberty League International’s successes and failures. This is a company with a very good product line that holds up its own value extremely well. I am a happy and rather successful member.

Home Business Start up

Filed under: General — Laura @ 12:37 am

Your home business is your livelihood, and you know that time is money. So why do so many home business practitioners insist on purchasing sub-standard equipment? With something as important as your telephone and your computer – both essential links to the outside world and to customers – why risk your time by buying a shoddy piece of unreliable gadgetry?

Investing a little more into your home business can mean heightened productivity and much less downtime. Take a decent phone, for example, with a wireless headset. If you spend a lot of time on the phone then imagine the time you can save doing other things.

Likewise your computer. Time spent reloading software onto the computer after yet another virus infection is wasted time. Go for a decent machine and some decent anti-virus software from the start. Hell, buy a computer that you can use as a backup in case you other needs repairs.

Your home business is important and spending a little extra on good equipment should be seen as an investment rather than a waste.

Success in Home Based Business Together

Filed under: General — admin @ 2:23 pm

Husband and wife team Matt and Stacy Williams enjoy each other’s company. It’s hand that this is the case because they live, sleep, eat, relax and work together, all in the same house. The Williams’ home based business is based in Atlanta, Georgia and has been running successfully since 2001.

Their home based business has gone from strength to strength and the couple now employ six additional staff. All staff work on the same terms as Matt and Stacy: the work from home on what is essentially their own home based business. This flexibility allowed by Matt and Stacy means that more people can take their jobs than would otherwise be possible. “Most of our account manager employees are women who have chosen to leave the corporate rat race in order to spend more time with their children,” says Stacy.

This kind of approach to a home based business does take a lot of work. It’s a good job Matt and Stacy enjoy each other!

Is Salvia as Potent as LSD?

Filed under: General — Carmela @ 10:59 am

Want a legal drug? Want it to be as potent as LSD? Want it to be widely available on the Internet? Look no further than Salvia Divinorum.

The Salvia plant has long been used as a hallucinogenic by native Americans. No modern Americans are using a specially concentrated version of the plant; users become very dissociated, they have out of body experiences, and they merge with the floor or a piece of furniture.

But you’d better get there quickly, since the lawmakers of the country are going to try their hardest to ban Salvia in the very near future. California are the latest state to try and snub out the trend, as a bill in the state Senate will make it illegal to sell Salvia to minors. The bill is the love child of Assemblyman Anthony Adams who thinks that, despite cries from medical staff who want to use the drug in experiments, the risks posed by salvia are too great to postpone the legislation.

LifePath Unlimited Surges To Top

Filed under: General — admin @ 7:05 pm

LifePath Unlimited is the latest big player on the Canadian home business market, offering a product which capitalizes on the booming personal development industry whilst catering for, and offering excellent opportunities to, budding Canadian home businesses.

Liberty League International was one of the first successful Internet based ventures in this field, coming onto the scene in 2004. The Internet fuelled their arrival and, with the widespread availability of VoIP and other technologies making international calls cheaper and easier, Canadians were able to become players on an international stage.

Wealth Masters International – which entered the market in about 2006 – concentrated on Direct Sales but offering primarily financial education. This financial education gave Canadians moderate success, but the bulk of the information is centered on U.S. financial structure. LifePath were able to offer more.

What next? With an estimated 79 million people starting home businesses in the next three years (according to Forbes magazine), there is sure to be stiff competition in the Canadian home business market.

So you want a new iPhone?

So you want a new iPhone? Fine. So do most of the other people in the world! Wait, though. Wait until summer when, it is rumored, Apple will release its 3g iPhone. This model is sexier than the old one in many ways (not least of which because it is 3g compatible) but, importantly, it is also going to be cheaper. The price cut will come from AT&T subsidies to new customers if they agree to a two year contract with the firm.

The 3g iPhone is expected to be released on the one-year anniversary of the original model. This puts it to the 27th of June or thereabouts. Apple, sneaky swines that they are, plan to cut the supply of the old iPhone downloads a few week before this date so that the release of the new 3g iPhone model will coincide with a marked shortfall in supply. The new 3g iPhone will meet this shortfall and many will pick it up.

Is Salvia Divinorum the New Drug in Town?

Filed under: General — Carmela @ 12:49 pm

There is a new drug in town; this one is different, this one is legal. Salvia Divinorum is a member of the lowly sage family and originates from Mexico, but thanks to the Internet it is becoming one of the most popular legal drugs. Salvia Divinorum is as potent as (highly illegal) LSD and is the most potent naturally occurring hallucinogenic known.

Salvia Divinorum, or “Magic Mint,” “Ska Maria Pastora” or “Sally D”, is popular with users both young and old and is legal almost all States across the US. Its popularity is assisted greatly by virtue of its legality but also because of how truly easy it is to get hold of, and how inexpensive it is.

Legislators are donning their amour, though, and we should expect to see more news articles condemning Salvia Divinorum and its users in the near future. Legislation, many say would be an overreaction.

O2 and Vodafone Music Downloads

Filed under: General — Laura @ 11:59 pm

Sony’s approach to its business in the past has been one of assertion and force. With the ‘ownership’ of rights to music comes a guaranteed emolument. People aren’t too sure what it means to ‘own’ music, however, and recent years has seen a dramatic climb in people enjoying music downloads, for free. Sony’s previous tactic has been to bully the small person into submission. Now it is joining forces with Nokia and We7 to offer unlimited music downloads to those very same small people. Amazed? So are we.

This comes at the same time as a whole raft of other agreements between suitors to offer music downloads to users or customers of companies such as Napster, O2, Vodafone and 24-7 Entertainment. O2 and Vodafone are hot on the heels of Nokia’s example and will, it is predicted, offer unlimited music downloads to their customers with the help of Napster’s technology.

What others are saying:
Music downloads will surpass CD sales in four years
Music downloads with Sony

Global Resorts Network Makes Family Vacations a Reality

Filed under: business — SuzyQ @ 8:22 pm

I always dreamed of taking vacations to luxury destinations but I could never have afforded to take my family there.

A friend told me about the Global Resorts Network and how it had changed the way he booked his vacation trips; he suggested that I get a membership as it would save me an enormous amount of money.

Skeptical at first, I eventually took the plunge. And he was right.

The Global Resorts Network gets its great deals by buying excess inventory from resorts and timeshares. The discounts that it gets from these deals is then passed onto the network’s lucky members. The destinations are limited to those at which the Global Resorts Network has been able to source excess inventory and so there is likely less availability during busier periods. Having said that those that are available are available as they are advertised: no blackout dates and no hidden fees.

Moving on from just taking the vacations and being the customer, I decided to get involved in the Global Resorts Network work from home business opportunity. At $1000 commission per membership sold there is plenty of scope to make enough money to go on even more vacations!

I’m thankful to my friend for introducing all this to me, and I’ll be sure to do the same to all my friends. What a wonderful company.
