EcoTalk’s 12 Step Program for “Warm-a-holics*”

Because we all contribute to global warming, be co-dependent no more:

1st Step: Admit you are powerless over your addiction to using energy and that your high energy use has become unmanageable, and then change 10 light bulbs in your house to compact florescent bulbs. Taking this first step saves 1,795 lbs of carbon dioxide per year!

EcoTalk's Final Show(?)

L2titlephotosgovrichardson This might be EcoTalk's last hurrah as a daily show, but we'll be damned if we won't go out with yet another jam-packed hour of news that will inform the future that us optimists are determined to see through.
If the mainstream media were a little more concerned with concrete plans for our energy future than the cost of somebody's haircut, presidential outside shot Governor Bill Richardson (NM) might have a reasonable shot at the White House this upcoming silly season. David Sandretti of the League of Conservation Voters joins Betsy to outline the big guy's plan to combat climate change. LISTEN (10 min)

Your LAST chance to save EcoTalk

Dear Friends of EcoTalk

“EcoTalk’s Inconvenient Truth":

If Green is the new Black why are we in the Red?

The nearly three years of broadcasting our groundbreaking program on Air America have come with nearly constant turbulence. As the nation's first progressive network with ambitious expansion plans experienced growing pains, EcoTalk weathered them all - but not without significant cost. Selling advertising and partnerships was our only means to cover production costs and that task was made difficult for many reasons.

Free iPhone Music Downloads on the Rise

European Apple fans and detractors alike: clear your desk. The ultimate in fashion accessories is here! Make way for the download apps on iPhone!

This may not sound very exciting to the Americans out there who have been lovingly cradling your devices for some time now, but to us Europeans who have been able to do nothing but watch this is earth shattering. Deals Germany, the UK and France have been wrapped up and Apple has allegedly signed contracts to put a number of carriers on the iPhone books. Details are scant at this stage. This isn’t the Europe-wide rollout of the iPhone music downloads that we were hoping for but certainly it’s a promising start. You will start to see more free iPhone music downloads

Something else to be excited about (as if the iPhone music downloads is now in plethora and wasn’t enough!): pictures of the new iPod Nano appeared on the web, albeit briefly. The pictures were of poor quality and it was difficult to see just what we are in for here. Predictably though it has sent the Apple fans and conspiracy theorists positively frothing at their gaping mouths. The iPhone download on the rise….

Start A Home Business

Filed under: General — admin @ 1:13 pm

Your home business needs you, and you need to be as productive and as useful as possible. This is why you need the right equipment and the right conditions in which to work.

A faulty or poor quality phone may lead to lost calls, unheard instructions or frustration: any of which can lead to you losing a client for your startup home business. A good quality phone might cost your home business a little more at the outset but it should be value for money that you are looking for rather than cheapest cost. Check out like something from Plantronics.

Your computer too can have a marked effect on your home business. Imagine having to format the hard drive every few weeks, recovering from a virus, from adware, or just from poorly operating software: that’s Windows for you. Consider a good quality system and especially consider something from the often overlooked Apple range (yes, I do have an Apple! Definitely recommended!).

Your home business deserves decent equipment that is suited to its job.

The Movies The Awakening and The Secret

Filed under: General — SuzyQ @ 10:28 pm

In my twilight years there are few things left that surprise, shock or amaze me. I had a double surprise the other day when I watched the movies The Secret and The Awakening.

The Secret explains the law of attraction, which is arguably the most powerful law of the Universe. Brave claim? Yes, but entirely warranted. The concept and the application of the law have been documented in all forms throughout the ages albeit under different guises.

The Awakening DVD described that moment of epiphany – conveniently called the Awakening – where we are able to see everything that little bit more clearly and in a very different light; we are able to see how our positive thoughts can positively influence the world around us. Does this sound useful? It is.

The concepts introduced in the Awakening and The Secret are powerful ones and need some digesting. Reading a book about them might help but actual people telling actual stories is a much better way to understand the import of the ideas.

What others are saying:

Investigating Reviews on Wealth Masters International

Filed under: business — admin @ 7:26 pm

Finding the right home based business opportunity can be a pain; naturally you want to read up on as much information as you possibly can. Using the Internet is usually an excellent idea, and you can be sure that there is a wealth or ready information at your fingertips. But is the Internet the best place to start looking for unbiased reviews? With some much incentive riding on your signing up for various plans like Wealth Masters International it seems unlikely.

Home business opportunities like Wealth Masters International are subject to the same market forces as physical, tangible products; they’re also subject to a people trying to sell the product to you. Someone who is linked to Wealth Master International is unlikely to provide you with the most impartial advice. There are plenty of places on the Internet that offer solid advice on Wealth Masters International, but it may take some investigation before you weed the salesmen from those genuinely wanting to help.

Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich”

Filed under: General — Laura @ 8:46 pm

Some books are just difficult to read unless you’re in the right mindset. I found that this was the case with Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich. It had been sat on my bookshelf for some 18 months before a friend revealed the chapter on sex to me. What a revelation. Chapter eleven is entitled “The Mystery of Sex Transmutation: The Tenth Step Towards Riches.”.

This helped me to get started, and it turns out that I was in the right frame of mind to Think and Grow Rich. Concepts I had originally thought had no relevance to me, turned out to be concepts that I believed in and had actually been living, which really was a nice bonus.

When I first received Think and Grow Rich as a present from my well-meaning husband I was unable to focus and comprehend on what it was exactly that I was reading and how any of it related to my current life. When I gave myself the time to think and grow rich I found a wealth of relevant information that was well presented and accessible. Definitely recommended.

New Wakeboard videos

Filed under: General — admin @ 8:35 pm

Danny Turner’s Hypoxic films – based in Northern California – have finally released their debut title, “Spun”. Spun isn’t your typical wakeboard video, churning along with footage of a handful of well known stars of the sport. Spun features lesser known members of the sports’ elite group. Some of these guys are really underrated and it’s great to see some of their sick moves finally being committed to wakeboard video.

In this wakeboard video you will see names like Wes Briscoe, Ricky Gonzales, Gator Lutgert, and Jake Huso. All massively talented wakeboarders but not yet into the category of household name.

The wakeboard video was shot – mainly – in California and one of its greatest – and most humorous – moments is when the boarders are attempting to hit the A-Frame slider positioned over the producer’s van.

Yet.

This is a well rounded and well produced video and we certainly hope to see more from this talented producer

Financial Gain With Home Based Business

Filed under: General — admin @ 1:23 pm

The purpose of any business has ultimately to be financial gain; what of the other benefits of business, though? Home based business offers many advantages over other types of businesses and they are not all financial benefits.

Think of the time saved – and the sanity saved – if you didn’t have to commute to and from work every day. With a online home based business you can literally be in your office within a few minutes of waking up, should you so desire.

The benefits of not working with people of whom you may not enjoy the company are immense – no more bitching behind your back from jealous colleagues.

Not working for a boss – and earning him money – will definitely appeal to many, as will the security of knowing that there is no one but yourself that can fire you from your position! A home based business offers these advantages and more.

Starting a home based business requires little starting capital, and may be the most rewarding thing you could do for yourself.

Ruckus about P2P filesharing

Filed under: General — admin @ 2:42 am

Students are united… in their hatred and contempt for the laughable Ruckus.

Ruckus is the music-download service being promoted by universities and colleges as the alternative to the file-sharing ‘problem’. It’s a problem, apparently, in the eyes of the RIAA. Is it really a problem? That’s a completely different discussion for a completely different day.

Here’s why it won’t work: students simply don’t care that their institutions are being put under pressure from the RIAA’s lawyers. All they care about is getting free music, videos, games, and other goodies. File-sharing is so easy for them it is difficult to see why on earth they would want to stop.

And we don’t think they will, at least not if ruckus is the only alternative. Students are united… in their love of file-sharing with applications like Ares. The authorities will certainly have to try harder than this if they want to encourage an amicable switch from ‘problem’ file-sharing to that done with Ruckus.

Pirate Torrents

Filed under: General — admin @ 3:59 am

Downloading Pirate torrents is really easy. You just need to browse the web, find any torrents that interest you, and download. Once the pirate torrents are on your computer you need to open them up with a supported BitTorrent client. The client connects to the tracker(s) specified in the file, and receives a list of peers currently transferring pieces of the file(s) specified.

Once the pirate torrents are loading in your client your computer will being to ‘find’ other computers (’peers’) that are holding the files (or any smaller bits of the files) that you need to get a complete set. Once it has found a section that it needs it will download that. Once you have sections of the files from the pirate torrents available on your computer people will begin to download from you. The process continues (at least in theory) until everyone in the group (or ’swarm’) has a full set of all the files. It stands to reason that the more peers in the swarm, the quicker all pirate torrents will be downloaded.
